Are you thinking or looking to learn affiliate marketing or just looking to see what all the hype around affiliate marketing and affiliate programs is all about. Affiliate marketing in its simplest form is where you refer a sale and get a percentage for doing so and it really doesn’t have to be any harder than that!
Now a lot of people will try to make it sound harder than that but it really isn’t, you put up a website, add content (usually a review) about the product that you want a commission from and scatter your affiliate link (a special link that tracks your clicks and sales) about 3 times throughout your content.
Now when people visit your site and read your review if they like what you’ve got to say about the product (I recommend your honest and give people the good and bad points) they will visit the vendors site, buy the product and you get your slice of the pie (can range between 10 and 100%).
Simple no!
There you go you have just learned affiliate marketing. It is honestly that simple.
Now lets look at the Points in more detail:
1. You put up a website:
Really not hard to do you can get a free website from so many sites you just have to google it and Im sure you will find hundreds, but I recommend Weebly because it easy. Or you can get a hosting account with fantastico (makes it easy to create websites in seconds) now I would recommend Hostgator because! Yep you guessed it, easy (I dont do hard work, never have and never will lol) plus they have great customer support.
Weebly will guide you through the process if you choose that option, now if you chose Hostgator then in your control panel look for fantastico in your control panel and click on it you will be presented with a whole list of options on the left(click on wordpress blog) and follow the steps to create your website.
Whichever way you choose its EASY!
2. Add your content
Hey your pretty much on your own here as I don’t know what product or service you are writing about but I will give you some tips:
1. Only promote good stuff that you think people will use and enjoy doing so.
2. Try out the product or service first so that you can give an honest review.
3. Be yourself when you write, never try to be something your not.
4. Give the good points and the bad.
5. Above all else be honest!
3. Scatter your affiliate link throughout
Ok so if its a review site that your creating then I recommend:
1. That you use a link shortening service or link cloaker.
2. Your first link text should be: Note this is review: Click here to visit the (product name) site
3. Your other 2 links should be: Click here to visit (product name) site
4. Drive traffic to your pages
This is the hardest part of all and if I was to discuss it here this page would probably be as long as the bible but if you want to learn a quick overview of how to drive traffic you can start your quest at this blog post: 27 ways to Generate Traffic to your website.
Ok so that’s it! that’s the nuts and bolts and all you need to know to learn affiliate marketing. Don’t make things harder than they are and keep at it.
REMEMBER you have to take action to see results
